Located amidst the scenic and world renown Daniel Boone Natural Forest and Red River Gorge Geological Area, the skylift takes you on a mile journey through spectacular mountain scenery.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3>Red River Gorge Geological Area<\/h3>\n<p>The Red River Gorge is a canyon system on the Red River in east-central Kentucky. Geologically, it is part of the Pottsville Escarpment. Much of the Gorge is located inside the Daniel Boone National Forest and has been subsequently reserved as the Red River Gorge Geological Area, an area of around 29,000 acres.<\/p>\n\n<h3>Pilot Knob Nature Preserve<\/h3>\n<p>Pilot Knob State Nature Preserve is located in Powell County, Kentucky, USA. Formerly a railway tunnel, it has often been described as the &#8220;Gateway to Red River Gorge&#8221; for the shortcut it provides motorists to the Red River Gorge.<\/p>\n<p>Built for the Dana Lumber Company between 1910 and 1911, Nada Tunnel (pronounced nay-duh by locals) was an anagram of Dana.
